Dear Added Value farm-ily,

We are excited to announce that Added Value is now a project of Red Hook Initiative (RHI)! For 16 years, we have fearlessly farmed in Red Hook, mentoring youth farmers and growing amazing vegetables for our community. For 16 years, RHI has nurtured young people and empowered residents in Red Hook to be inspired, resilient and healthy, and to envision themselves as co-creators of their lives, community and society. Now we join RHI's community of over 5,000 youth and residents striving towards positive change.

Why is Added Value becoming a project of RHI? Joining forces with RHI will allow us to hone and grow our model for urban farming, youth empowerment and sustainable, community-led food production. Moving forward as Red Hook Farms, we will continue to offer meaningful jobs for Red Hook youth; create leadership and educational opportunities; provide a safe space to gather, learn, and grow; and increase access to locally grown organic produce. All of our staff will stay on, now as RHI employees.
